David Newton // Hand Crafted Guitars
Music and more specifically, guitars, is a huge passion of mine.
There is just something special about playing a carefully handcrafted instrument. Everything about it from the smell of the woods, to the look and feel of the french polished finish is just different than anything you can pick up off a wall from Guitar Center.
David Newton is a luthier from Beaumont, Texas who specializes in modern recreations of golden era (1930's and 40's) Martin and Gibson guitars. I've been eyeing his website for years so when I saw him put this up for sale, I jumped on it immediately. Essentially, this guitar is based on a Martin size 1, meaning it is a small body guitar that measures 13" across the lower bout. The woods are certainly not traditional. Carpathian spruce top, Red gum back and sides, Magnolia Neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Sounds even better than it looks.
